Lots of organisations can help support you, including stroke clubs - often run by and for people who have experienced a stroke.
Bury St Edmunds: Second Chance Self Help Group (Stroke Association)
Second Chance Bury Stroke Self Help Group is a vibrant community of stroke survivors dedicated to reclaiming a high quality of life. Our friendly, supportive, and informative weekly meetings cover a wide range of topics, including professional physiotherapy, cognitive activities, specialist speakers, and social outings. Regardless of the impact of your stroke, join us to regain your confidence and independence to the fullest extent possible.
Second Chance is an independent support group connected to the National Stroke Association.

Great Cornard: Success After Stroke Club
The Success After Stroke Club is a Stroke Association affiliated charity group who helps its stroke recovering members benefit from the social and communication support provided. The Success After Stroke Club welcomes new members and offers a range of therapies and activities throughout the week including IT, games, exercise, art and pottery. The Club has wonderful volunteers on standby and a great team. Get in touch for more information.

Haverhill: Support Group (Stroke Association – Haverhill)
The Haverhill Support Group welcomes membership from people affected by stroke in the area. The group provides communication and peer support, offers social and recreational activities including games, conversation, outings, talks and presentations by visiting speakers. The group also includes visits from speech therapists and physiotherapists every four weeks for further support.

Newmarket: Cheerful Friday Club
The Cheerful Friday Club welcomes new members and offers a range of activities including talks, outings, games and communication support. They also provide social and peer support with the aim of the club being to provide encouragement to help members come to terms with the effects of stroke.

Stowmarket: Stroke Association Support Group
The stroke group provides information and peer support to stroke survivors and their carers; it also offers exercise sessions run by a trained instructor and a range of outings and social activities. The group always offers a warm welcome, friendly face and the opportunity to talk to someone who understands what you are going through because they've been through it too.

Stowmarket: Stroke Working Age Group
offers peer support, information, and help with problems in an informal, friendly setting to all working age stroke survivors in the Stowmarket and surrounding areas. New members always welcome.

The New Hope Stroke Club welcomes membership from people affected by stroke living in and around the Sudbury area. The club provides peer support and offers social and recreational activities including games, conversation, outings, talks and presentations by visiting speakers.

The Lowestoft Stroke Support Group holds a friendly, welcoming meeting every Friday morning, offering support, information and social activities to stroke survivors, carers and spouses. We have a varied programme of events including games & quizzes, exercise sessions, speakers and occasional meals and trips out.
