Information for community services
Our dietitians and speech and language therapists have teamed together to deliver a training package to support training on the management of safe nutrition and hydration for community services in West Suffolk.
The e-learning package includes sections on the identification and management of those at risk of malnutrition or with swallowing difficulties in line with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) Regulation 14: “Meeting nutritional and hydration needs”.
It also covers other CQC and National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance, local action plans and referral policies. The e-learning is designed for the whole team to ensure nutrition and dysphagia support is effective.
Certificates will be issued on completion of each module and can be used as evidence towards meeting expected CQC standards.
The Safe Nutrition and Hydration e-learning is split into three modules:
- MUST and Nutrition Support – 45 - 60 minutes to complete.
- Dysphagia and IDDSI - 50 - 60 minutes to complete
- Mouth Care - 45 minutes to complete
Certificates will be issued for each e-learning module passed. The e-learning has a pass mark of 80%. We may contact you following completion of the course to provide additional feedback/ offer additional support and answer any queries or concerns you may have raised.
Please note: in order for the e-learning to run effectively you will need to access this from a device with PowerPoint installed.
