Labour Suite

Our philosophy of care in the labour suite is to normalise birth as far as is possible. You will be cared for by a team of midwives, alongside obstetricians, anaesthetists and paediatricians, who are on-call 24 hours a day, should they be needed.

Services provided

The labour suite has seven well-equipped and comfortable rooms for labour and birth.

Doctors will support and encourage a normal vaginal delivery and work alongside the midwives on the labour suite and are available should an instrumental or caesarean birth be required.

Giving birth on the labour suite may be recommended for women who have an underlying medical condition such as diabetes, are expecting twins, have had a previous caesarean birth or suffer complications in pregnancy e.g high blood pressure.
