Elderly medicine

The department of medicine for the elderly at West Suffolk Hospital sits within the department of adult medicine. We specialise in providing holistic care to patients aged 75 and over.

Services provided

Each of our wards has a team of junior doctors, nursing staff, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and social workers to provide a comprehensive service for our patients.

We provide regular outpatient clinics for elderly patients referred directly from their GPs or to follow up after admission to hospital.

We also provide specialist clinics for patients suffering falls, Parkinson’s disease, high blood pressure and those who have suffered from strokes.
