Meet the babies born on NHS70
Baby Joshua arrived in a flash today at 12.13am to wish a happy birthday to the NHS! Weighing in at 6lb,10oz, he has already gone home.
Mum Natalie Davenport from Mildenhall said: “It happened a bit quicker than we thought! We got here and walked through the emergency department but I’d not got far before they had to put me on a trolley in one of the emergency department bays. There were staff everywhere and they were all amazing; they came racing from the labour suite and within 13 minutes Joshua was born.”
Baby Annabelle was born at West Suffolk Hospital today at 7.36am, weighing 7lb, 0.5oz.
Mum Laura Fenner from Bury St Edmunds said: “We had planned a home birth but circumstances meant we had to change that. I wanted a homebirth but actually the whole experience in hospital was amazing. It always felt like we had choices, everything was our decision, and everything was explained so well. I felt empowered the whole time, it was an enjoyable experience and I felt completely in control.
“Everyone was wonderful, they all introduced themselves and you knew why they were with you. We received the highest possible care and Annabelle is perfect.
“Happy 70th birthday NHS!”
Baby Annabelle, with parents Laura and Daniel Fenner, was born at the West Suffolk Hospital at 7.36am on the NHS’ 70th birthday
