Jude Chin appointed as substantive chair of West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jude Chin as our new chair following a rigorous and competitive selection process. Jude, who previously served as interim chair, will assume the position for the next three years until June 2026.
In his interim role, Jude Chin played a pivotal part in overseeing various transformative changes within the Trust, including successfully recruiting a cohort of highly experienced new non-executive directors (NEDs) and Dr. Ewen Cameron as the new chief executive.
Commenting on the appointment, Jane Skinner, our lead governor said: "We are delighted to have Jude Chin taking on the role of Trust chair for the next three years. His exceptional leadership as interim chair and his extensive experience in the healthcare sector will be instrumental in guiding the Trust forward.
“We are confident that under Jude's stewardship, the Trust will continue to deliver quality care to our patients and the wider community."
Prior to his appointment, Jude served as a non-executive director on our Trust board. He has a wealth of experience at board level across diverse sectors, including previously holding the position of vice-chair at Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust, meaning he has a deep understanding of the healthcare landscape.
Speaking about his appointment, Jude expressed his gratitude and enthusiasm for the future: "I feel honoured to have been chosen as the Trust chair for West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust for the next three years and I want to start by thanking every member of our staff in our hospitals and community teams for their incredible work in caring for our West Suffolk residents.
"I am committed to continuing our pursuit of excellence - collaborating with the board, staff, patients and partners - to deliver excellent care and services to the community we serve."
