The West Suffolk Hospital is currently experiencing an increased prevalence of norovirus.

Currently:

  • F7 ward is closed

Visiting closed wards is subject to the ward manager’s permission.

The families or loved ones of patients in our care can check whether they can or should visit them by telephoning the ward using the ward information on our website.

To keep the spread of winter illnesses, such as norovirus, to a minimum, the Trust has stepped up its infection prevention and control processes, including enhanced cleaning schedules and practices.

It is important that those wishing to visit our sites only do so if they have not had any of the following symptoms in the past 48 hours:

  • diarrhoea
  • vomiting
  • high temperature
  • persistent dry cough.

If you or someone else requires urgent treatment please continue attending as normal.
