Annual members meeting

The Trust is holding its annual members meeting in the Apex, Bury St Edmunds, at 5.30pm on 12 September 2017.

The public and staff are invited to book a place to attend and hear first-hand from chief executive Dr Stephen Dunn about the Trust and its plans for the future, along with special interest talks on the theme ‘ageing well’.

As people get older their health challenges change. The number of people of state pension age is expected to rise from 12.2 million to 15.6 million by 2035, and it’s thought that by 2033 around 5% of the population will be over 85 years old.

But how can you make sure you’re looking after yourself, and your loved ones, as you and they get older?

You will hear from public health registrar Dr Helena Jopling, and cardiology consultant Dr Pegah Salahshouri who will update the community about the hospital’s mission to transform its cardiac care, including My Wish Charity’s progress with its Every Heart Matters appeal.

Chief executive Dr Stephen Dunn said: “We welcome our local community to join us at our annual members meeting. It’s a great opportunity for you to hear more about your local hospital and to ask questions about the care and services you receive. It promises to be a great event and we’ll find out more about what we can do to keep well as we get older.”

There will be a number of health information stands to visit, with hospital teams and other health agencies on hand to answer questions. Hospital governors will also be in attendance, to hear the priorities and concerns of the communities and staff they represent.
